"Some of My Favorite Roses"

published by Paul Barden in his May 2001 issue of Old Garden Roses and Beyond, the Rose Growers Source website.
Species Roses

Geranium (hybrid Moyesii)
Single bright cimson/red flowers create a stunning display early in the season. A tall shrub which can be used as a climber and will tolerate a fair degree of shade. Attractive fern-like foliage. 7' high x 5' - $15.00

Rosa Cantabrigiensis

Our earliest rose here heralding in the new season and what a cheery welcome. A dense arching shrub with small fern-like foliage and chestnut colored canes bristling with fine prickles. Plentiful soft  buttery yellow blossoms along the canes.
7' high x 7' - $15.00

Rosa Rubrifolia
Beautiful foliage of purple and reddish tones with a blue-ish blush. The small bright flamingo pink blossoms are well enhanced by the foliage on a graceful arching shrub. 7' high x 5' - $15.00

Harison's Yellow

Bright buttercup yellow double blooms early in the season and pretty ferny foliage that is attractive all season. A classic dooryard heirloom rose.
5' high x 4' - $15.00

Rosa Gentiliana
Another tall growing species which is lovely grown as a climber. Creamy white single blossoms in profusion with a citrus overtone to the fragrance. The healthy, glossy green and elongated foliage is reason enough to grow this rose. 15' high x 8' - $15.00

Rosa Spinossima
Myriads of single white blossoms along the canes in early to mid June with an unforgettable fragrance that carries on the air. Fine ferny foliage which turns deep red in the fall and is complimented with dark hips. 4' high x 4' - $15.00
